I have been employed as a police officer with the City of Hanford since September of 2003. I am currently assigned as a Patrol Officer. During my time at the Hanford Police Department, I have served in other assignments such as SWAT, Traffic and as a School Resource Officer. I have served as a HPOA board member in the past and I am happy to have been once again elected as vice president.

I have be employed with the City of Hanford since March of 2001. Prior to starting my Law Enforcement Career I served in the United States Marine Corps. During my service for the Hanford Police Department, I have been assigned to assignments such as Patrol, Field Training Officer, SWAT Sniper, Crisis Negotiations, School Resource Officer. I am currently assigned to Police Detectives. I have served several years throughout my career as a board member for the Hanford Police Officers Association. I am proud to call Hanford my home and serving this community.

RUBEN CANO

RUBEN CANO

Treasurer

I have been employed with the Hanford Police Department for 2 years. I am currently assigned to the K9 Unit, working alongside my K9 partner Krash. As a K9 officer, I attend weekly and monthly trainings, provide K9 assistance to calls as needed, and community outreach through presentations throughout the city of Hanford and building relationships with students in our local schools. I also serve the department as a Field Training Officer and as a member of the Central Valley Regional SWAT team. I began my law enforcement career in 2012 with the Delano Police Department. During my six years with the Delano Police Department, I served many different roles with their agency. I built my career and experience through the assignments of Field Training Officer, School Resource Officer, serving on the Gang Task Force and Delano SWAT team, Administrative Corporal, and serving the Investigations Unit as a Homicide Detective. I also previously served on the Delano Police Officers’ Association finance committee. This is my first year proudly serving on the Hanford Police Officers’ Association as Treasurer.

I’ve been employed with the City of Hanford since February of 2015. I started my career in July of 2011 as a Deputy Sheriff for the Kern County Sheriff’s Office. I spent three years in Kern County before returning to my home town of Hanford to work as a Deputy Sheriff for the Kings County Sheriff’s Office. Over the course of my career, I have worked in multiple assignments including, Jails, Courts, Patrol, Training Officer, and I am currently assigned to the Hanford Police Department’s Detective Division. This is my first year proudly serving on the Hanford Police Officers’ Association as the Member at Large.
